It isn’t just because Ken is a client of ours that we are doing this, this is an extraordinary opportunity to make a difference. Ken is a nice, nice man who during this challenging time has not lost his sense of humor. When he told the few of us at the recent AAML meeting in Chicago about his need for a kidney transplant, he jokingly said he would only accept the kidney if the donor is a beautiful blonde between the ages of 20 and 25.
All joking aside, from the little Ken told me, the process involves not just finding a match but the donor also has to have two perfect kidneys before one can be donated.
